Family Vacation, June 2023
Our family vacation this year had us at the Hideaway at Royalton Puna Cana for six wonderful days of palm trees swaying in the Caribbean breeze.
The Royalton is under the Marriott brand, offering an all inclusive chain of resorts in paradise and if you are rooming on the Hideaway side, this is adults only! The Hideaway Royalton exudes a unique blend of luxury and laid-back charm, catering perfectly to families seeking both adventure and relaxation.
We found the resort easy to navigate, well laid out with a variety of things to do, places to eat and sunsets to view.
Food: As with every vacation we sampled many of the flavors here, with our favorites being the omelet station for breakfast, and the pasta station for lunch. Hunter steakhouse, Zen Asian Teppanyaki & Sushi Bar Dorado Seafood Grill were nice options for dinner. Unfortunately, we did have a bad meal here, Score Sports Bar was truly an awful experience. No one would wait on us and when we finally got something to eat, the fries were cold and were left overs and the chicken wings were raw inside. Overall on the food – it was ok, I would not rush back to this resort for the food.
Beverages: What can I say – it’s all inclusive and we are on vacation! I do not like the local beer, but every once in a while we would find a Coors light…but most of the time it was Pina Colada’s, Red Dragon Fruit Margarita, and the Blue Breeze Cocktail.
The overall atmosphere of the resort was nice, there was 3 different pools, several beach sections, pop up eaters and many bars. We found the rooms to be of the normal Caribbean type – white walls, white floor, freezing cold and the slight smell of mildew. We had a ground level room, the best in my mind, easy in and out.
We met the best bar tender to date, Juan had the responsibility of keeping us all hydrated, he had an amazing attitude, was fun and upbeat. If you visit The Hideaway Royalton Punta Cana be sure to stop by the Hideaway pool bar for a drink!
All in all the 3 of us had a perfect family vacation, we spent time together relaxing, walking the beach and eating – you can’t beat that. There were a couple of ups and downs, but we just go with the flow and all is good.
So, if you’re looking for the perfect escape for your next family vacation, look no further than the Hideaway Royalton in Punta Cana. It’s paradise waiting to be discovered, and trust me, your family will thank you for it!
