We’re Tammy and James – travelers at heart, adventure seekers by nature, and now proud owners of a 46’ trawler that is quickly becoming our home, office, and gateway to a whole new chapter.
For years, “Seeing the World” has been about more than just travel for us – it’s about connection. It’s about stepping beyond the tourist path, finding the real heartbeat of a place, and truly experiencing it. Whether by land or now by water, we believe the best journeys are the ones you feel.
In March 2026, we purchased our trawler and began the exciting (and sometimes messy!) process of turning her into our full-time floating home. From refits and repairs to planning routes and dreaming big, we’re documenting every step of the journey.
James retires in December 2026, and together our goal is to begin America’s Great Loop in early 2027 – a legendary boating adventure that will take us through thousands of miles of rivers, lakes, canals, and coastal waters across the eastern United States and beyond.
As liveaboards, we’ll be working and living onboard while continuing to run Sundowner Travel, helping others create unforgettable adventures of their own. Our boat won’t just be our home – it will be our office, our studio, and our front-row seat to a life designed around freedom, exploration, and meaningful experiences.
Along the way, we’ll still be stepping off the boat to immerse ourselves in the destinations we visit – discovering local culture, hidden gems, incredible food, and the stories that make every stop unforgettable.
This is more than a boating journey. It’s a lifestyle shift.
It’s about seeing the world differently.
